Gourmet restaurant in Africa

How a normal order goes down at Le Zoo Chez Felix, a restaurant in Abidjan, The Ivory Coast. As you can see in the photos, the food they serve here is very different than what we normally eat. They call it bushmeat, which is basically wild animal meat and apparently it’s a traditional part of their diet. We don’t see how cats can be categorized as wild animals, but hey, when you’re starving and you don’t have that many options, who gives a damn right.

Also on this bushmeat menu are crocodiles, snakes, different rodents and even the great apes. Actually the situation is pretty desperate on the black continent, with the bushmeat cuisine becoming very popular from The Ivory Coast in the west, to Kenya and Guinea in the east, several species face extinction (poaching is a very profitable there as you well know).
